OUR FACULTY

 

Our distinguished and award-winning staff includes graduates of respected Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts programs from prestigious colleges and universities and certificate programs such as Dance Teachers Club of Boston and Dance Masters of America where they maintain active memberships and continue their education. Collectively they have many years of dance and teaching experience working with students of all ages and abilities and have received many awards and accolades for their choreography and training.


ANDREA LYNCH

ANDREA LYNCH

ANDREA LYNCH has been a dance educator at Dance Studio of Wakefield for the past 30 years. She is a graduate of the Dance Education Training Course and is a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston as well as Dance Masters of America, Chapter 5. Andrea has also been a teacher at prestigious studios in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale Florida.

Over the years Andrea has won many choreography awards as well has been recognized for her passion with her students which has lead them to many regional and national awards. Many of her students have gone on to pursue careers in dance, theater and teaching.

In addition to teaching and choreographing she is also the event manager and coordinator for the DSW dance teams and DSW birthday party program. Andrea is currently enjoying sharing her passion of dance and encouraging her daughter who is a title winner and elite dancer. She combines energy, enthusiasm and positive encouragement to all ages and levels at DSW.

 

 


JILL O'BRIEN

JILL O'BRIEN

JILL O’BRIEN has been a dance educator for the last 27 years and trains our Intensive dancers in various forms of Modern Dance. She has taught at many studios throughout New England before coming home to DSW where she began her training at the age of 3. Jill studied Theater and Dance at Keene State College and went on to perform with numerous Modern, Contemporary and Jazz Dance Companies. She is a 200 hour Registered Transformational Yoga Therapy Teacher, Level one Brain Gym Certified and most recently was certified to teach Acrobatic Arts.

 

 

 

 


KAREN CELLI

KAREN CELLI

KAREN CELLI is a long time Stoneham resident and a proud mom of her 3 boys. She is a former DSW alumni and has been a teacher at DSW for over 30 years.

She is a favorite teacher with all of her students both recreational and intensive. Karen is a member of Dance Masters of America as well as Dance Teachers Club of Boston where she received her certificate as a graduate of the Dance Education Training Program.

Karen has shared her passion with both the recreational program as well as the Intensive dancers. She is well rounded in all forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical and preschool and more. She has many awards and accolades over the years and is proud of the many of her students who have gone on to continue their dance education and careers at prestigious college and professional programs.

 

 

 

 


LAURA SILK

LAURA SILK

LAURA SILK is a recent alumni of DSW and its competitive program where she won many awards for her performances and choreography. She is a recent graduate of UMASS Amherst and has joined the staff at DSW to work with students of all ages and levels. We are excited that Laura has joined our staff and ready to share her knowledge and passion.

 

 

 

 


LIZ GARSIDE

LIZ GARSIDE

LIZ GARSIDE began her early dance training at the Charlotte Klein Dance Center in Worcester, MA. She was a member of the Charlotte Klein Dance Company, Dance Captain and Dance Teacher. She has a B.A. Degree in Psychology from St. Anselm College and spent several years as a Senior Business Manager in Boston’s financial industry.

Liz actively attends several dance conventions throughout the year and is a proud member of Dance Masters of New England Chapter 5 and The Dance Teachers Club of Boston. Liz is a versatile and caring teacher to our Tiny Twos Preschool program as well as to our Dance Competition Teams and has been a member of our staff since 2012. She is a proud Mom to her son Will and daughter Caroline, who also shares her passion for dance and is part of the DSW family!

 

 

 

 


MARCY MANZI

MARCY MANZI

MARCY MANZI is a long time resident of Wakefield and has been a dance educator for over 30 years. She is an alumni of the Dance Studio of Wakefield as well as an award winning dancer herself. Marcy holds a BFA degree in dance from the prestigious Boston Conservatory. She is a member of Dance Masters of America, chapter 5 as well as Dance Teachers Club of Boston and a graduate of their Dance Education Training Course.

Marcy loves teaching both the recreational and Intensive /competition team classes. She is the director of DSW’s ballet program for the competitive dancers and choreographs and produces a yearly ballet performance that receives many accolades.

Marcy is proud of her many students accomplishments including regional and national titles. She shares her love and passion with both recreational dancers as well as intensive dancers. She is proud of all her students and their achievements including her daughter who is now sharing her talent at DSW.

 

 

 

 


OLIVIA MORRIS

OLIVIA MORRIS

OLIVIA MORRIS began dancing at the age of three at the Dance Studio of Wakefield, where she continued her training as a dance company member throughout high school. After graduating, she attended Providence College where she majored in Elementary/Special Education with a minor in Dance. Olivia was also a member of the Providence College Dance Company where she performed and choreographed with a team of talented dancers, choreographers, and teachers.

Olivia has a passion for helping students of all ages and abilities pursue their love of dance and movement. She has completed the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston Dance Education Training Course and the Boston Ballet Adaptive Dance Training Course. Olivia created the Adaptive Dance Program at DSW and her passion truly shows on the faces of her dancers. Olivia is also expecting her own tiny dancer in the spring of 2024 and is excited to share her love of dance with her!

 

 

 

 


SHAWN KAYENBORG

SHAWN KAYENBORG

SHAWN KRAYENBORG is our Hip Hop Instructor is originally from California and has trained from a very young age in Hip-Hop and Breaking. He has been in several movies including “Ten Things I Hate About You” with Heath Ledger. Krayenborg auditioned in 2007 for “So You Think You Can Dance” and made it through to the final Vegas cuts. Krayenborg expanded his dance range when he enrolled in Northern Essex’s dance education program in 2009 where he studied many forms of dance including World Dance, Ballet, and Jazz.

Krayenborg was hired in 2010 as a Premier Dancer for Bates Entertainment where he performs live for hundreds of people all over New England every year. He enjoys furthering his dance education by attending several dance conventions each year such as “The Pulse”, “Monsters of Hip Hop”, “West Coast Dance Explosion”, “Jump”, and many more. He is a high energy teacher and performer, and we are excited to have him as a part of Dance Studio of Wakefield.

 

 

 

 


TARA CHRISTIE

TARA CHRISTIE

TARA CHRISTIE is an alumni of DSW as well as their competitive dance teams. Tara is a longtime resident of Wakefield and a Mom to four including two former DSW competitive dancers. She is a member of Dance Teachers Club of Boston and a graduate of their Dance Education Training Course. She is versed in ballet, jazz, tap and lyrical and has shared her passion with many young dancers who have come through the DSW doors.

Tara also contributes to the organization of our programs assisting in the many office duties and protocols to keep our school running smoothly and our parents well informed.
